South Florida Cyber Forum (July 13th)
Tuesday, July 13th, 2021: 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM
This free Florida Defense Cybersecurity Training Program will focus on cyber protections for businesses, Department of Defense (DoD) Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) requirements for defense contractors and how to begin the cybersecurity assessment process.

With the DoD ramping up its focus and requirements on cybersecurity for its supply chain, manufacturers and defense contractors of all types will need to take specific steps to protect their networks if they want to continue doing or hope to do business with the DoD. Without meeting the requirements for cybersecurity, your business may not be eligible to continue to provide products and services to DoD.

The South Florida Cyber Forum will address growing concerns of companies and individuals and the importance of becoming cybersecurity compliant to avoid the costly risk of theft, breaches and potential loss of contracts. The Forum will bring awareness on how to successfully navigate and implement cybersecurity best practices, review the latest information on CMMC standards and steps your company should take to become compliant.

CIO: Driving Business Outcomes: Data Management and Analytics in Joint On-Prem Cloud Environments (July 13th)
Tuesday, July 13th, 2021: 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM
The core of any organization's successful business transformation is the ability to turn data into insights. But the challenge is how to manage and analyze all data within a business whether data comes from or resides in the data center; a co-location; the edge; or the public, hybrid, or private cloud. An effective anywhere-anytime data strategy also means extracting value from data that resides on any-or a mix-of database platforms.

Topics to be covered during this virtual roundtable include:

  • Value: Extracting value and speeding time-to-market from data-derived insight.
  • Capacity: Managing and integrating information from multiple databases and data warehouses.
  • Locations: Integrating and using data from the data center, the edge, and any type of cloud architecture.
  • DBaaS: The as-a-service approach to managing data and databases.
  • Mitigating Risk: Security, governance, and privacy as you manage information from any platform.

DARKReading: The Threat Hunter's Toolkit: Traits, Techniques, and Favorite Tools of the Trade (July 14th)
Wednesday, July 14th, 2021: 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM
For years, most IT security organizations have waited to detect new threats and then moved swiftly to defend against them. Today, however, there is a new wave of 'threat hunting,' in which the security team takes a more proactive approach seeking out potential threats using analytical tools. How do these enterprises build threat hunting programs? How do they staff them, and what tools do they need? In this Dark Reading webinar, a top expert discusses the process for building a threat hunting program, and for optimizing the efforts of designated threat hunters in the organization.

Hosted by Dark Reading and Palo Alto Networks

InformationWeek: Bolstering Your Enterprise Cyber Risk Assessment (July 14th)
Wednesday, July 14th, 2021: 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM
Businesses constantly prepare for security breaches, but they don't always understand exactly how an attack or breach can affect the business. In this webinar, we'll explore how the impact associated with existing threats and data breaches affect cost and downtime, and how to measure and quantify those costs so they can be reported to corporate decision makers. Being able to better understand your risk assessment will help you to better implement the technologies and processes tailored for your own specific environment.

Attend this webinar and you'll learn:

  • Why some companies that plan a cyber risk assessment often find themselves unprepared for an actual attack
  • Who needs to be involved in the cyber risk strategy planning process to ensure that all bases are covered
  • Which technologies provide the clearest view into your risk potential so you can develop a robust risk assessment
  • How specific types of attacks can affect specific parts of your business and how to respond to them

Hosted by InformationWeek, Inspired eLearning

CIO: Mitigating Hidden Risk, Compliance, and Security Issues in Customer Conversations (July 14th)
Wednesday, July 14th, 2021: 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM
The need to protect sensitive, private, or restricted information as well as ensuring regulatory compliance in customer conversations is essential to maintaining adherence and meeting legal demands on the organization. The vast majority of firms are already protecting data found in structured, tabular data sets. However, as customers and allied businesses interact with an organization in unstructured conversations over voice, chat and other forms of communications, the potential for running afoul of policy adherence, regulatory compliance and privacy mandates increases dramatically.

Join CIO contributing editor Aaron Goldberg and subject-matter experts from our roundtable sponsor, CallMiner, for a private, interactive, virtual roundtable.

Hosted by CIO and CallMiner

Many IT teams have been taking steps to automate the operations of their IT infrastructure. Much of this activity has focused on the most apparent tasks, where automation efforts improve efficiency, such as patching. InformationWeek: Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity in the New Normal (July 21)
Wednesday, July 21st, 2021: 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM
online

It's time to rewrite the playbook for DR/BC -- really, that playbook that was gathering dust until the pandemic hit. While most companies may not be going 100% virtual even in a time of crisis, the lessons learned from the shift to remote work in 2020 demand that organizations take a fresh look at their playbooks. Consider what DR/BC looks like if thousands of company employees once again are working at home, riding out a pandemic, a hurricane, or power outages. Or, consider that many organizations will be managing a hybrid workforce. Is your DR/BC plan up to date?

Hosted by InformationWeek
