CIO: Digital Trust: Cybersecurity Trends, Resiliency, and Strategies (March 28th)
Tuesday, March 28th, 2023: 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM

Attackers increasingly are attempting to accomplish objectives without writing malware. Rather, they've been using legitimate credentials and built-in tools - an approach called 'Living off the Land.' At the same time, there's still growth in ransomware-related data leaks, supply chains under attack, and both e-crime and nation-state cyber actors. All that requires enterprises to be vigilant and constantly adjust their strategies to stop - or mitigate - cyberattacks and breaches with a cyber resiliency approach.
Join CIO contributing editor Charles Pelton and subject-matter experts from HPE GreenLake for an interactive, 90-minute discussion on trends in cybersecurity threats, cyber resiliency, and mitigation strategies.
- Digital trust and cybersecurity resiliency - how to recover quickly
- Current trends in ransomware, malware, and extortionware
- Quantum computing threats: harvest now, decrypt later
- IoT threat vectors, supply chain, and counterfeit equipment
- Living off the land, AI, and chatGPT
- Plugging security talent gaps
- As-a-Service cyber resiliency solutions

DARKReading: ChatGPT: Defending Your Business Against AI-Supercharged Ransomware (March 29th)
Wednesday, March 29th, 2023: 1;00 PM to 2:00 PM

With the release of ChatGPT, anyone with an Internet connection now has free access to one of the most powerful AI tools we've seen in the open market. While it can be a tool for good, it can just as easily spell disaster for business cybersecurity defense.
Most IT and cybersecurity leaders have not begun considering the hostile use of AI, let alone allocating budget for defenses against it. But cybersecurity researchers are watching closely as ChatGPT and similar AI tools lower the technical requirements needed to successfully complete ransomware and other cyberattacks.
Ransomware is the leading cyberthreat to businesses, inflicting costly data theft and downtime on companies of every size. Criminals have gotten more effective in widely distributing their malware widely and getting victims to pay with new pressure tactics.

blackhat: The Future Of Risk-based Detection (April 6th)
Thursday, April 6th, 2023: 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM

Of course, detection has come a long way since the early days of static signatures and IOCs, but the constant evolution of adversary techniques continues to be a major challenge for the modern Security Operations Center. Compounding this challenge is the inherent complexity of managing 50-100+ disparate security tools - required to address the need for broader and deeper visibility across a constantly expanding attack surface - but with each tool generating its own alerts and requiring specialized expertise to be properly configured.

DevOps: The Impact of Low-Code/No-code on DevOps (April 10th)
Monday, April 10th, 2023: 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM

The simple fact is, it's faster to build applications using low-code tools. Rather than allowing the application development backlog to become worse than it already is, many professional developers have concluded it's simply more expedient to build many of those applications using a low-code tool that automates much of the code-writing process. The challenge now is finding a way to integrate all the application development projects being launched with DevOps workflows to ensure those applications are deployed, updated and secured properly.

SNIA: Cyberstorage and XDR: Threat Detection through a Storage Lens (April 4th)
Tuesday, April 4th, 2023: 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM EST

Enter "Cyberstorage", a term coined by Gartner, which is defined as doing threat detection and response in storage software or hardware. A parallel, related trend in the security industry is eXtended Detection and Response (XDR) which shifts some of the threat detection from centralized security monitoring tools (SIEMs) down into each domain (e.g., endpoint, network) for faster detection and automated response. Factor in the growing impact of ransomware and all these forces are driving the need to find creative, new ways to detect malware, including from inside the storage domain.
In this session we'll discuss:
- Cyberstorage and XDR - what are these emerging trends?
- Threat detection and response methods through a storage lens
- Possible approaches for detection when used in conjunction with security tooling
- Why silos between security and storage need to be addressed for successful threat detection
