WW SSD Shipments Up 24% Q/Q to 93 Million in 3Q23

Strong Client SSD Shipments Help Lift SSD Units and Exabytes in 3CQ23 -- Enterprise SAS and PCle strengthen in the quarter, helping to lift enterprise SSD market by double digits in both units and exabytes

Overall unit shipments increased 24% Q/Q to 93.06 million, with capacity also growing 21% to 77.69EB.

Client module units grew significantly, up 27% in units and 26% in exabytes as PC OEMs posted strong buys for the second quarter in a row.

Enterprise PCle units jumped 34% Q/Q to 3.77 million units, while capacity shipments grew 23% in the same timeframe.

SAS SSDs also grew Q/Q to 0.702 million units and 2.58EB, up 26% and 13%, respectively, rebounding after a decrease in the previous quarter.

After a very strong 2CQ23, enterprise SATA SSDs fell slightly in units by 5% to 3.34 million units, while capacity shipped held flat at 4.123EB.

Total NAND bit shipments increased a modest 6% from the prior quarter to 205.35EB, fueled by solid growth inclient SSDs.
